Bait Record

What else would you call it when you keep track of bait volumes on your fishing trip?

Crickets.

Ok, well, actually, a bait record is a high-tech mechanism or program installed into computerized files to detect hacking or improper access. Via bait records, it is possible to track who accessed the files, and catch those who were doing so improperly. The term "bait records" is derived from the phrase "take the bait." Crooks take the bait and get caught (as do fish).
