Ballot

According to one political writer, a U.S. election ballot is a new form of Russian currency. Nyet?

The word ballot is derived from the Italian word ballotta, meaning "little ball," originally derived from the ancestors of Danny DeVito. Little colored balls were used to cast votes by the people of Venice during the Renaissance, and therefore were the predecessors of the current paper/computerized ballots.

A ballot, whether a colored ball, a piece of paper, or a computerized version, is a device used to cast votes in an election. In American cities other than Chicago, each living voter is allowed one ballot.
