Bank Debits

A debit transaction reflects money leaving a bank account. The mechanisms by which money exits stage left include check payments, drafts, or cash withdrawn from an account. Bank debit information can be used to forecast national economic trends with high correlation to reality, so they are inspected carefully by economists and bond investors.

As in any business, the world is rosier when debits are less than deposits…more money going in than coming out.
