Beginning Inventory - BI

The level of inventory at the start of a time period.

The little old lady who lived in a shoe took her kids to Disneyworld. When they arrived, she took a head count and there were 12 children. On the drive home, she noted that there were 13 children in the car, one more than her beginning inventory. That's a felony in most states.
