A report published by the Federal Reserve before each FOMC meeting, providing a qualitative snapshot of the economic health in each of the Fed's 12 regions.

Detective Friday did everything by the book. He bought his Porsche based on its Blue Book value and then set-up a date with a girl in his Little Black Book. Things were going well until she suggested ordering the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and he broke out the most recent Beige Book to see if he could afford them. Curious, she asked to see what Friday was reading, and he, um...threw the book at her.
