Better Business Bureau - BBB

Categories: Regulations, Econ

Before Yelp (or nasty comments on company websites, or the Internet in general, or even before widespread electric appliances or, for that matter, commercial airplane traffic, World War I, and women's suffrage), there was the Better Business Bureau.

The organization, founded in 1912, helps consumers know the reputation of individual businesses. If you have a complaint about a service and the business refuses to fix the problem, you can report them to the Better Business Bureau. The BBB will then log the complaint, so that other potential customers can look up the business and see any issues they have failed to resolve.

This government extension is way more helpful than the WBB (Worse Business Bureau) which celebrates corporate failure in all its glory.
