Bitcoin Wallet

Like your irl wallet, your Bitcoin wallet is the place you store your Bitcoins. Unlike your irl wallet, it doesn’t actually store money, because Bitcoins aren’t “stored” anywhere.

So what does it store? The private key (like a password) for each Bitcoin you own.

You can think of your Bitcoin wallet as a little ledger that stores all the passwords you need to unlock your Bitcoins when you want to use them.

A lot of people who bought some Bitcoins early on (smart!) have lost their wallets, and therefore the keys, and therefore the Bitcoins they bought (not so smart).
