Block Policy

You could think of a block insurance policy as coverage for goods in transit or in storage. It covers all types of loss, such as damage or theft while being transported from one location to another.

Block policies are for any kind of transportation, including truck, rail, plane or water. However, if the customer takes ownership at the point it leaves your shipping dock, it is up to them to get their own insurance coverage. Block policies also cover storage in a third party warehouse.

Here’s a tip to avoid theft of valuable cargo: ship in a plain brown box without labels that say such things as “Fragile: computer equipment” or “Dave’s Jewelry Store” or even “cannabis, keep refrigerated.”
