Botnet

Categories: Tech

Botnets come in two flavors: good and bad. The good kind are...legal. They're working computers, connected and performing tasks to keep a website up and running.

The bad kind...are illegal. They will gain access to your machine and take it over. Sometimes, your machine is directly hacked, and other times it’s hacked automatically by a “spider.” A spider is a program that creeps around the internet looking for a security hole to crawl into. Once it’s downloaded on your computer, it will contact the master machine. From then on, your machine (computer, tablet, phone, etc.) is completely under the control of the person who created the botnet. Most likely a guy named Paul who lives on Doritos and resides in his parents' basement.
