Broad Tape

Hey, you kids, get off my ticker tape lawn with that music!

Often referred to as “the scroll” in sports television, the broad tape is the 21st century version of the ticker tape that was once used to provide real-time price quotes for publicly traded issues. Beyond stock prices, the broad tape nowadays also includes other pertinent information, such as breaking news, commodities pricing, and when the next episode of Mad Money will be airing.
