Bucket

A grouping of related items, such as securities, with similar risk profiles, expirations, and/or maturities.

Jack was a successful stock trader with a “bucket list” of experiences he wanted to have before he died. At the top of this list was to goal of successfully creating and managing a bucket of mortgage-backed securities.

He finally got his wish in the summer of 2008, just before the Great Recession got into full swing. Jack then went from dining on caviar to barely affording a bucket of fried chicken from KFC. If he doesn't turn his life around soon, he might just kick the bucket.
