BUGS Index - HUI

A cute double-entendre (a rarity in the finance world), the “Basket of Unhedged Gold Stocks” (BUGS) is an index dream come true for “gold bugs.”

Scrooge McDuck loved his gold so much that he always kept a giant bucket of it in his vault so he could go swimming in it whenever he wished. One day, his nephews, Louie and Dewey, suggested that he create his own stock index of gold mining stocks, and free up space in the vault for their video games.

Recognizing that such a basket of unhedged gold stocks would be a better investment, he complied. But, bitter that he lost his playroom to his creative nephews, he spitefully gave the index a ticker named after his favorite nephew, Huey.
