Bursary Award

Bursar: One who...burses? Gets Bursitis?
Um...no. Bursars are those who collect and dish out the money at a college or university, so you want to be particularly nice to them if you're a student on scholarship.
A bursary award is a scholarship given to those who cannot afford to pay the full tuition, which in theory includes...just about everyone. The term is most often used in the UK and Canada, and the amount of the award is determined by the family’s financial need, and sometimes by the academic ability of the student as well. There are other types of bursary awards based on outstanding academic performance, with financial need not taken into consideration.
Funding for bursary awards often comes from donations by companies, private donors, the government, and foundations. So when students protest en masse against those evil rich and the even more evil corporations, the irony should not be lost on the observer as they ask, "How much longer will the donors tolerate the donees biting the hands that feed them?"
