Business Banking

Business or commercial banking services are a little more extensive than what is offered for consumer banking. They do everything from making loans and extending credit...to offering checking and savings accounts and day-to-day cash management.

Banks also provide businesses with access to the Automated Clearing House (ACH) for checks and electronic payment processing, so that money can be quickly transferred in and out of the business.

And since 1999, banks are also allowed to provide investment banking services. Some believe this can sow the seeds for future trouble in real estate and other industries, but there are now more government controls in place than there were in 2008. Like...that 600-gallon fish tank in the entryway does not, in fact, now get counted as collateral worth a hundred grand. One fish, two fish, red fish, bankrupt fish.
