Business Tax Credits

Business Tax Credits are a way the IRS gives a business a tax break (a credit on their tax bill) for a specific action.

For instance, if a small business pays half or more of its employees healthcare premiums, that business is eligible for a credit of 50% of the amount paid. This is a way to make insurance for employees more affordable for the small business.

The specific credits can vary a great deal, but are generally divided by small business or large number of employees, and type of expense the business is seeking a credit for (utilities would be different than healthcare premiums, for example).
