Career-Ending Move

Sleep with your boss's spouse. Embezzle millions of dollars and get caught. Go on a podcast and say what you think REALLY happened on 9/11. Lose your watch during surgery and later see it on a patient's X-ray. These are potential career-ending moves. You know, the things that not only get you fired, but force you to seek out a new profession entirely. The more public the mistake is, the worse it is for your career and your company.

What should not be a career-ending move is reporting illegal or unethical activities going on in a company. They are protected by the Whistleblower Act of 1979...if you're black balled in the industry for this stuff, you can sue for big bucks.
