Celtic Tiger

A nickname given to Ireland after having proven its prowess during its economic boom between 1995-2007.
Amazingly, this country went from being one of the poorest countries in Europe to one of the richest in just a few years. Many attribute this rapidly growing economy to the influx of foreign investment and social partnerships, a rise in consumer spending, the long term investment in higher education, and skyrocketing sales of potatoes and Guinness.
