Certified Trust and Financial Advisor - CTFA

Piece o' Paper. Direct from The Wizard behind the curtain. Something for the Scarecrow, if he had a Quickbooks account.

The Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) is earned through the American Bankers Association (ABA). There is an education requirement that can be met via a combination of formal education and usually at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

People with this credential offer “wealth management” services, more specifically, they hold positions like Trust Managers and Financial Advisor. A "trust manager" sounds like someone at a corporate retreat that oversees those blind falls into eager coworkers' arms. But in fact, it's a person who helps you set up a trust (like you might use for estate planning).

Sally works in finance, and she has an interest in managing trusts. She applies to take, is approved to take, and then takes the exam. She is given this snazzy credential to add to her resume, and increases her earning potential (and the jobs she qualifies for). She is also required to keep up with Continuing Education Units annually, so her knowledge stays fresh and her services that much better.
