Chaplain Malpractice Insurance

Doctors have malpractice insurance. That makes sense. They're cutting you open and doing stuff with your insides. A lot can go wrong. Lawyers? Yeah, you probably won't die...but malpractice by a lawyer can cost a lot of money (and maybe a jail term). So, yeah...that makes sense too.

Priests, though? At first glance, that might seem a little far-fetched. Did God complain? Well, not quite. Remember, a lot of people go to their priest (or chaplain, as the type of policy is known) for advice. Many people don't have psychologists. They use their priests for that instead. People go to their religious leaders for drug counseling, marriage help and general life-coach stuff. And if some of that advice goes bad...well, we live in a litigious society. People are prone to sue. For that, there's chaplain malpractice insurance.
