Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)

A professional organization called The Institutes provides this prestigious designation to experts in property-casualty insurance and risk management.
Those seeking this designation must choose between property and commercial insurance, and must take eight courses in areas ranging from business law and accounting...to risk management and liability insurance. Individuals must also have two years of work in the insurance industry, with a minimum of 17.5 hours per week. That experience must come in the five-year period before one obtains the designation.
Following the passage of final exams, a CPCU does not need continuous education.
