Checkable Deposits

You have a checkbook. That checkbook is linked to an account, likely your checking account.

But if you have a savings account with the bank, you probably have overdraft protection (and if you don't...get it).

Without overdraft protection, the check bounces. With overdraft protection, the difference between the check and what is left in your checking account will be withdrawn from the savings account that authorizes the protection.

After all that...we come to the definition of checkable deposits. These are the demands that come from any checks or drafts that have been written. They can include savings, money market, and checking accounts.
