College Of Insurance

Categories: Education, Insurance

The Electoral College isn't a college about elections...and the College of Cardinals isn't a university dedicated to learning how to become a priest (or a bird). But, in the straightforward tradition of actuarial science, the College of Insurance is an actual college dedicated to the insurance industry.

The school, originally founded in 1901, is physically housed at St. John's University in New York City. At this point, "The College of Insurance" is basically just a nickname. In 2001, the official name of the institution changed to The School of Risk Management, Insurance, and Actuarial Science. It offers degrees in things like actuarial science and enterprise risk management.

The College of Insurance doesn't have its own mascot (St. John's in general is known as the Red Storm) but we suggest something like The Conscientious Squirrels. We're open to suggestions though.
