Commercial Bank

It's not a library of advertisements, or a strip mall built along the side of a river. Instead, a commercial bank is the technical term for what you think about when you think about a bank.

Companies or individuals can open savings or checking accounts. The bank will also offer loans and some basic investment functions, like certificates of deposits. Commercial banks are distinct from investment banks, which offer more complicated financial services, like issuing stock or advising on mergers and acquisitions.
