Compliance Program

Compliance programs are required to enforce the rules of an industry. The more that industry is involved with the consumers’ safety and protection, the more rules there are.
A compliance program must disseminate information to the representatives that work with the client base of that industry. No one can enter that industry or company without knowing the laws and regulations that govern it, as well as the policies and procedures within firms working in that industry.
Compliance programs employ compliance personnel to educate and enforce the industry's rules. They also perform annual site visits to ensure the implementation of all policies and procedures.
It’s a boring job (and a boring glossary definition), but...somebody has to do it.
