Corporate Resolution

Every year, we tell ourselves that we’re going to lose weight, drink less soda, and stop browsing the internet for nine hours a day. Starting January 1, we join a gym, buy a lot of kale, and pour out all the alcohol in our cabinets. And two weeks later, we’re eating wings on the couch and we're back on Sprite. We failed at our New Year’s Resolutions. Well done.

Corporations have resolutions too…but they’re a different kind of resolution. These are the actions that a firm's board of directors will vote on at the company. Typically released as a formal written document, these binding corporate actions might include a decision to buy or issue company stock, remove a CEO from power, hire new employees, purchase real estate, or even buy another firm.
