The Credit Union National Association acts as support and protection for your local credit union. Credit Unions are actually nonprofit organizations, giving them advantages in terms of taxes and regulation that banks do not have.

If you need a loan, or are sick of paying those crappy, massive fees that big banks use to devour you whole, credit unions are another option. They can use their tax benefits to offer lower loan rates and fees. In order to protect these advantages and combat the big banks, the CUNA exists.
