Currency Pair: EUR/USD (Euro/U.S. Dollar)

You spend your days looking out the window. What is the meaning of it all? Why in the world would a higher power allow these things to happen? Who's in charge here?
That’s the question one might ask when thinking about the fact that EUR (the symble for the euro) sits before the USD (the U.S. dollar) in a currency pair. The EUR/USD is a popular currency pairing that allows for liquid, easy commerce between and among the two behemoth buying entities who...heart each other. In essence, a currency pairing usually focuses on currencies that trade actively among one another, like the USD-EUR world, where trillions of dollars in value exchange each year.
When the euro was first launched, one euro bought you two USD. With the offings of terrible financial and political management, the EUR has fallen to be almost at parity with the USD, i.e. one EUR now buys you only one USD.
