Dalal Street

There’s Wall Street in the U.S. and the Nihonbashi district in Japan, but in India, all the financial action takes place on Dalal Street in downtown Mumbai. Here you will find the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which located here in 1874 and was the first stock exchange in India.

And, just as we have the Dow Jones Industrial Average, in India you would refer to the S&P BSE Sensex, which tracks the performance of the 30 largest stocks on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
