Dependent Care Credit

The Dependent Care Credit is a tax credit offered to taxpayers who pay for childcare for one or more dependents who are either under 13, or disabled and unable to take care of themselves.

You can qualify for the credit if you've paid out of pocket for expenses such as daycare, babysitters, camps, etc., and are either employed or looking for work.

So no need to throw your infant in a Johnny Jump Up and leave him there for eight hours a day. You can go ahead and hire that nanny, so your child won't be stewing in his own juices.
