Disaster Recovery Site

Categories: Insurance, Regulations

Remember doing fire drills in school, and everyone had to go to some designated place like a field or a parking lot? A disaster recovery site is basically that designated area, but for companies instead of schoolchildren.

Why bother having a backup space? If you’ve seen The Office (the American one), you’ll remember why. In general though, only bigger business worry about (and can afford) this kind of thing, preparing for natural disasters that make sense given their location, or perhaps a security breach (ughhh data theft…) causing a temporary shutdown.

Do you have your own disaster recovery site in case something happens to your home? Just think about that as you drift off to sleep tonight, your head on your pillow...perfectly safe...maybe.
