Dotcom

Dot. Com. As in the internet extension naming system for a web URL. It's not just Amazon. It's amazon.com if you really want to get to the right place to buy your Prime.

Why dotcom and not dot something-else? Because dotcom is the commercial (see the "com" in there?) extension of the naming system that the original internet naming society gave to the database extension. There's also dot gov, dot edu, and a bunch of other dots. There's probably a dot xxx coming soon to a web surfing system near you soon as well.

It just means that there are a lot of kisses on those pages. What? That's how Aunt Leslie signs all her Christmas cards.
