Dummy Director

It's not like a direct insult, nor an objective or even subjective assessment of a member of the Board of Directors. Rather, a dummy director sits in the seat as an actual, official, real human Director...only they represent the interests of someone else.

Why would the world need this role? Haven't we followed it myriad times in the form of our politicians?

A dummy is sometimes needed when a given board member is conflicted. Like...they are also a Director on the board of a competitor, but they represent the investors who funded the recently-IPO'd company. Or they simply don't have the skills to be on a given committee. Or...something else. Regardless, with this status, they are clearly ready to run for Congress.
