Energy Resources Conservation Board - ERCB

For a time, the ERCB was responsible for regulating the energy industry in the province of Alberta, Canada. Founded in 2008, the body oversaw regulation of the province's mineral resources...things like oil, gas, coal, and oil sands. It also had oversight over the province's pipelines.

The body, made up of eight members, had some judicial powers, managing Alberta's mineral interests, which are mostly owned by the province itself. Dissolved in 2013, the ERCB was replaced by the Alberta Energy Regulator.
