Equity Income

Categories: Stocks

See: Equity fund. See: Mutual Fund.

Equity income or, rather, income from equity investments, usually comes in the form of dividends. Companies are soooo profitable, they don't know what else to do with the cash other than to dividend it out to shareholders. So in this case, were the company public, it'd most likely pay its dividends four times a year, having declared the divvy way earlier in the year, a declaration made by the board of directors. That's equity income.
