The thought that a society is…well…the way it is. And it’s going to stay that way.

It’s the belief that certain aspects are central to the function of society and should be preserved. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, and there may be aspects that are not wrong. Many would argue that the Bill of Rights is part of American Essentialism, and that a loss of these civil liberties would be problematic for most people.

Likely, the loss of the 1st amendment would restrict the reader’s ability to enjoy the sarcastic commentary in these various definitions. Which would be a terrible loss for the world.
