Estoppel

E-Stoppel: An online stoppel. Like email or ecommerce, only with stoppels. What, you don't know what a stoppel is?

Estoppel is a legal doctrine that prevents someone from contradicting something they've said before. It's the law-school equivalent of "no take-backsies."

You want to buy a house, but there's a big ugly set of trees in the front yard. You say, "I'd buy this house if those trees weren't there." The seller responds, "Oh yeah, I've already scheduled someone to come out to get rid of those." And you're like, "Really? that's perfect...I'll buy it then."

Then after the money's exchanged hands, the seller yells "Sucker! Hope you enjoy your trees!" When you sue the guy, estoppel's going to come out all over the place.
