Fiscal Agent

A person or company in charge of doing financial stuff for another organization.

For example, if Shady Motor Co. is being investigated for tax fraud issues, they might hire a tax accounting firm to deal with the IRS on their behalf. That tax accounting firm is Shady Motor Co.’s fiscal agent.

Or if Bunny Beanies, Inc. makes so much money selling hats for pet rabbits that it decides to distribute dividends to its shareholders, it might hire a company to help administer the payments. That company is a fiscal agent for Bunny Beanies, Inc.
