Fractional Ownership

You really want to own a private jet. You just think that would be a great way to show the folks at your high school reunion that you're more than just a trash collector. You've really become something.

Unfortunately, on a trash collector's salary, you can't afford a private jet. Not even close. So you decide to pursue a fractional ownership.

In this scheme, you buy a small ownership in a high-value asset. The item (like the jet) is owned by the group. Your fractional ownership gets you some rights to its use. In your case, we're talking very fractional ownership. Like, you can ride in the luggage compartment of the jet on short flights when at least three other owners are already taking the same trip.

You can also sell your ownership for cash if you want to. Maybe after the reunion. You really just want to show them the picture of you posing in the plane (right before you climb into the luggage compartment).
