The hot startup was hoping to raise $6 million in its A-Round. That money would get the 2 kids in a garage plus their 18 first-hire friends runway of 2 years. But instead, the deal was bid upon by 2 dozen venture capital firms, and the company ended up raising $32 million in its A-Round.

It is now fully funded, i.e. it will become profitable (they believe) before it ever needs to raise capital again. And who wouldn't believe that freezing heads for future reanimation isn't a good idea?
