You go to a website and, before you can explore it, ads begin to pop up on your screen. They get to be annoying, since every time you click something a new ad pops up. Now you go to Facebook and see all kinds of ads on the sides.
Sites like Facebook, KaZaa, and Limewire use adware software to generate ads based on your browsing history. So those annoying ads that keep popping up are from another company like Gator, which created software to generate ads. So, essentially, Gator is one of those companies responsible for annoying internet users with pop-ups that download things without permission. Gotta love 'em (or not).
