Genomics

Categories: Tech, Investing

Genomics is a field of molecular biology that is all about that DNA. Mapping it, sequencing it, applying what they’ve learned to other scientific fields—it’s all part of a day’s work for your friendly neighborhood genomicist.

Advances in genomics can potentially have huge financial repercussions for the industries involved. Pharmaceutical companies and healthcare providers, just to name two, are supremely interested in what we can do with genes. Can we prevent disease? Can we treat previously untreatable conditions? Can we influence how genes interact with one another? Only time will tell.

Well, time…and genomics.
