Half Commission Man

It sounds like an insult from an early draft of Glengarry Glen Ross. Or the name of a newly discovered human ancestor...a name given by an anthropologist in a pay dispute with their sponsors.
In reality, it’s a term in the finance world for a person who matches clients with investment professionals. Think of a dating app, except instead of matching horny college kids, it pairs prospective investors with professionals who can guide their investments.
For this, the matchmaker gets a commission...but, as the name suggests, not a full one.
