Implicit Cost

Categories: Company Management

See: Opportunity Cost.

You didn't know the cost was there, necessarily. You knew you were moving homes...you sold your old; you bought your new. But there was an implicity cost to hire Nice Jewish Boy Movers. It wasn't explicit or obvious in the closing docs for the real estate transaction. But it was generally implied that it'd happen at some point.

It was implied, or imputed, or notional, i.e., "you shoulda known it was coming."
