Imprest

Tiny amounts of money. Little bits of cash for Jenny-the-Lunch-Lady's birthday card. Or twelve bucks for coffee for two from the street vendor.

They don't take ACH and debit on the street. So you have an imprest system. That is, you have a whole cash management system wherein you can take out cash money from the company coffers for small things. That dough gets noted. The HR Person will reimburse you for it at month-end if you fill out the forms properly, confirming whom you took to coffee, what you spent, and probably what you discussed that was a business-related thing.

That whole system of managing the cash? Imprest. And you should be.
