Inside Sales

Categories: Company Management

At first, the term “inside sales” might sound kind of sketchy, like we’re talking about insider trading or something. But we’re not. We’re talking about sales that are conducted remotely, like over the phone or via the internet.

Inside salespeople aren’t telemarketers; they tend to be a little more high-touch, or personally connected, to the folks buying their companies’ goods or services. They’re experts on what they’re selling, and are usually excellent communicators. And even though they do sometimes do the cold-calling thing, they’re probably not going to call you right in the middle of dinner and read some script to you about the benefits of buying some random life insurance policy. They’re a little more professional than that.
