Investment Accelerator

An investment accelerator is just that: an event, competition, or joining of forces to create an acceleration of investment in a certain area.
Think: Mini-Woodstock for budding young companies that are generally in aligned industries. Like...companies that are trying to do God's work in distributing to the world, software which decreases the number of clicks to finding porn on the web (hello, Snap; hello, InstaGram), all generally have the same needs: faster servers, fatter servers, similar types of code.
And the expertise from the venture capitalists funding them is analogously aligned. They're trying to accelerate the speed of innovation and adoption by the masses by taking away common frictions shared by many startups.
See: Y-Combinator for details.
