The Investment Corporation of Dubai, or ICD, is Dubai’s state-owned investment fund, a.k.a. a "sovereign wealth fund."
It was started in 2006, technically...though it was really a kind of continuation from Dubai’s Department of Finance’s Investment Division’s government investment portfolio.
Dubai is investing in all kinds of things, from energy and transportation to finance and real estate. They even have a slot on Million Dollar Listing, a fine Bravo TV show that traces the lives and slimes of real estate brokers.
