Jobless Claims

Whiny, lonely men, seeking elements of Craigslist.

Yeah, different jobless issue.

Jobless Claims is a weekly U.S. Department of Labor report, which tracks how many new filings there have been for unemployment benefits. In other words, Jobless Claims is a report on how many jobless folk claim their unemployment benefits.

It's one among many macroeconomic indicators of economic health. Since it does show super-recent data weekly, it can have an impact on the market if there’s a big change from last week’s Jobless Claims. Still, it’s a pretty small indicator compared to the monthly Employment Report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and has pretty volatile data (moving averages would help to find trends).
