Luxury Item

Anything you buy at Tiffany, Rolls Royce, Mont Blanc, and Embraer. All super-high-end luxury goods that have weird sensitivities to the economy.

That is, in bad economic times, Rolls Royce just has a slightly lower backlog; they're still sold out. In awful economic times, maybe Rolls doesn't roll, but even in the financial crisis of 2009, the company kept on keeping on.

The point is that the super-luxury items are bought by people so wealthy they really don't care all that much whether the world is ending tomorrow or going to last forever. They will continue to feather their beds regardless.
