Machiavellianism

Ever heard of Niccolo Machiavelli? The guy who wrote The Prince. Slim book from the 1500s about power. Machiavelli is who this term is named after.

Machiavellianism is the drive for people to obtain power and/or move up the economic or social ladder by any means necessary. These are the people who will sell out coworkers to make themselves look better. They’re the ones who will work on a patent with other people, then take it and register it to themselves. They’ll set up their competition to eliminate them.

In summary: you do you, at virtually any cost. Kinda celebrated vibe on Wall Street every other decade or so.
